The age divisions for 2012 are listed in the table below. A player’s age is determined by their age on December 31, 2011. Players may play up in a division but cannot play down regardless of experience or skill. Little Miami Fastpitch participates in the Southwest Ohio Girls Fastpitch Softball Association (SOGFSA). Practice for most teams typically begins in March with the games beginning the first weekend in May. Most teams practice twice per week. Games are typically on the weekends (either Saturday or Sunday) with one game during the week. The season ends the last weekend in June with the end of season tournament. The exception is the High School Division which has to begin play following the regular HS season. Players with a 1997 birthday and are in HS may be placed on the HS team.

The U6 Instructional and U8 Coach Pitch leagues are in conjunction with the Mason Youth Organization. The instructional league introduces young ladies to the game of softball in a fun and learning environment. The U6 Instructional League incorporates a combination of coach pitch and T-ball. A batter in the U6 league is given three pitches from the coach, if the batter does not put the ball in play, then a tee is used. Fielders in the U6 league are required to make the throws to the appropriate base. The Instructional team will play all games in Mason. The instructional division utilizes a softer reduced injury softball for the safety of the younger players. The U8 Coach Pitch division uses a conventional 11” hard softball
Parents are encouraged to bring the player with them to the signup for uniform fitting. Sample uniforms will be available. In years past the uniform sizes do not run true to typical girls sizes and fitting of the uniform is very beneficial.
